To help gather ideas about music magazine covers and contents pages I have made a mood board featuring both covers and contents pages from a range of magazines including Billboard, Q, NME, MOJO, Clash, and Rolling Stone. I have tried to pick covers and contents pages with artists that fit within either the Pop, Indie, or Rock genres, if not more than one of these, as I am considering on focusing my magazine on one of these genres. Conventional colours of the music magazines on my moodboard include white and red, with almost all of the covers I have picked out featuring these colours, apart from a few Billboard (featuring a darker colour scheme) and Clash (which features a blue rather than red) covers which feature other colours too. The contents pages also seem to feature the cover star too or pictures from featuring artists providing a link between the page and the content. The cover star's names also commonly feature within the centre of the page bringing attention to it. Overall, this should help me with creating my magazine cover and contents page.
